EyeYon offers a solution for curing corneal edema via an implant that is based on a silicon film attached to the posterior corneal surface, thereby resolving the source of the problem.
- The implantation of the silicon implant will prevent transfer of fluids into the cornea and thereby will prevent the creation of edema in the ailing eye.
- The implantation procedure is minimally invasive and suture-less, preventing injury to other local tissues and thereby resulting in a high degree of implantation success.
The EndoArt® implant passed a series of comprehensive in-vitro and in-vivo testing in accordance with regulatory requirements. A year after the beginning of the animal trial, implanted pigs’ eyes have showed a remarkable recovery of corneal edema without inflammatory response. Currently, the EndoArt® is at the beginning of First in Human trial. The initial results prove the EndoArt® procedure safety. Furthermore, the EndoArt® patients have demonstrated a remarkable improvement of their corneal edema status.
